Fibre Glass
CARCOLORS stock both polyester and epoxy resins as well as chop strand and woven mats for fibreglassing.
Polyester resin is more common for use in an automotive application for a number of reasons. Polyester resin has excellent bonding strength to a car’s surface, it is relatively flexible, versatile for adhering to fiberglass, carbon fibre and composites, and is cost effective.
However, epoxy may be better than polyester depending on the application. Epoxy resin tends to have a higher tensile strength, show greater chemical resistance, and have a higher heat resistance when compared to polyester.
Talk to the knowledgeable staff at CARCOLORS with your application and we can recommend the best to use with the matching mat.
